turkey day recap

are you still in a food coma? i am! fanboy & i had an amazing thanksgiving filled with great food, friends, a lot of wine, many laughs, and the always adorable, wrigley the bulldog. she had her autumn bandana on just for turkey day. and for the record: deep fried turkey is awesome!

thanksgiving countdown

only one more week until thanksgiving!

and while i've confessed that i don't love a lot of the traditional turkey day foods, i do love thanksgiving. we are celebrating with our friends and i am kind of excited to try deep fried turkey for the first time! and since our friends are doing the heavy lifting on hosting, fanboy & i will be bringing a double batches of homemade irish cream and pioneer woman's creamy mashed potatoes for the feast.

thanksgiving feast à deux

we toasted with the cava we brought back from spain last thanksgiving, stuffed ourselves with artisanal mac & cheese and gooey slices of chocolate chip cookie pie with vanilla bean ice cream, and my pats beat the jets, i'd say we've had a rather perfect thanksgiving. hope you did too!

talking turkey

pre-thanksgiving confession: i don't love turkey. and i hate pumpkin pie. i am well aware that this is essentially blasphemy.

while most of the traditional fare is not my favorite, i still really enjoy thanksgiving. and as a thanksgiving baby, i sometimes prefer my thanksgiving dessert to be birthday cake. fanboy & i have been away the past three years, so this year we are celebrating turkey day at home. possibly in our pajamas and definitely with plenty of food and football.
