sad day

it's patriots day - aka marathon monday in my home state of massachusetts. usually an exciting day in the boston area. i remember going to watch with my aunt, uncle, and cousin as a little girl. in 2011, i was lucky enough to cook my friend, becky, a pasta feast before her run.

unfortunately, today's boston marathon took a very sad turn because of bombs being set off near the finish line. what should have been a celebratory moment for today's marathoners, their families, and friends was marred by a senseless attack. i rarely find myself at a loss for words but at the moment, i am. 

my heart is in boston tonight.

chalk paint

my friend, torey, showed me how to use chalk paint this afternoon. i am a complete novice at painting furniture and this was so easy. i plan to take on our coffee table and entertainment center and maybe one of our bookcases. thanks again, torey!

do you watch game of thrones? are you as obsessed as i am? i gave fanboy the first season for his birthday last year and i was very quickly hooked. i'm not usually one for really violent shows or movies, yet i love visiting westeros on sunday nights!

more march madness (in april)

for the first time in ten years, syracuse is going to the final four! hopefully their zone defense can stick it to michigan on saturday night. 

GO 'CUSE!!
